Exchange Simulator

Business Need

In order to provide better prices to end customers, today's brokerage systems interact closely with NASDAQ and other ECNs. Applications have continuing enhancements to exploit new features provided by these interfaces.

Before implementation, the enhancements need to be tested with NASDAQ/ECN interfaces, and that's where the bottleneck is. As the NASDAQ's test system is shared among all the participants, one cannot test whenever he wants; rather, the testing activity needs to be planned and scheduled much earlier. NASDAQ also charges for the testing time.
